Call for Papers and Sessions 
The New Approaches on Geoinformation Research
February 01-02, 2011, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Introduction
The conference aims to bring researchers, scientists and students together to share their experiences, new ideas and the research outcome through the presentation and discussion of papers of all possible aspects of geoinformation. It will provide an unprecedented opportunity for professionals and students from remote sensing, geographic information science and related disciplines to discover cutting-edge geoinformatics technology and applications, while at the same time exchanging their ideas, research results, professional experiences, and future visions in the fields of geographic information science, remote sensing, and their applications.
The conference will include plenary, special, oral, and poster sessions.

The conference will include, but not be limited to, the following topics:
  • GIS in education
  • GIS in business
  • GIS in urban and regional development
  • Geospatial data sharing and interoperability
  • Geospatial web services
  • Geospatial Grid computing
  • Multi-dimensional (2D, 3D, and 4D) spatial data modeling
  • Virtual environment and their applications
  • Processing and application of high-resolution imagery
  • Integration of RS, GIS and GPS (3S)
  • Spatial decision support systems
  • Representation and visualization of geospatial data
  • Spatial statistics and applications
  • Geospatial simulation and computation
  • Volunteered geographic information (VGI)
There may be parallel sessions, if needed
Abstracts and papers
Participants are invited to submit original, unpublished research output not concurrently submitted elsewhere. The present first call is for an extended abstract written in English or Mongolian, with a length not exceeding 500 words. They will be reviewed for quality, originality, and relevance by the Program Committee. Authors of the accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full papers to be published in conference proceeding. Some selected papers will be published in journal “Special issues of Geography ”. Especially, registration and publication fee of the first authors of some selected high quality papers will be waived.
Please submit abstracts online at num_gis_rslab@num.edu.mn or bolorchuluun@num.edu.mn. . Abstracts must include title, authors (First name Last name), and indicate the presenter by underlining their name. It should also provide all the authors’ contact information: including affiliations, department, full address (street, city, state/province, and country), telephone, fax, and Email.
Special programs for participating students
The organization committee will organize student paper competition. The top quality papers will be selected as Best Student Paper to receive plaque and monetary award, and will be invited to submit a revised version to a special journal issue.

For publishing your paper in conference proceedings, 5000 MNT (or 5.00 USD) publication fee is required for each paper, and at least one author should register and attend the conference.
